Talk:Young Turk Revolution

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first paragraph is especially unreadable. For example, "identified an ancient regime in Ottoman politics in the strongest terms" doesn't make sense. Ibadibam 04:39, 21 April 2006 (UTC) Well I've given revision a shot...--Shandon 22:30, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] anti-semitism

Cut "He has been criticised by some adhering to anti-Semitism." First it contains weasel words and second it is unnecessary. Nothing here seems to indicate that the revolution occurred because of anti-semitism on either side.--Bruce Hall 14:50, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] genocide template

The Template:Armenian Genocide was removed from this article months ago; then it was put back, apparently on the grounds that the template actually mentioned the Young Turks. But the present article is about the Young Turk Revolution of 1908. The article did mention the Armenian Genocide as something the Young Turks later perpetrated; but this text was identical with text at the article on the Young Turks themselves. The events of 1908 otherwise have no clear connection to the later genocide; at least, the article does not spell out any such connection. Therefore there does not seem to be reason to use the Genocide template (rather than, say, an Ottoman history template). So I removed the template again, and the text that can be found at the Young Turks article. David Pierce 13:00, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
