Yossi Dahan

Yossi Dahan (born1954) founder and president of Adva Center), Philosophy lecturer and Social-Democratic activist.

Dahan finished his Phd in Columbia University. In 1991 Dahan founded "Adva Center for policy analysis of Israel society from social justice point of view" and now officiates as its president. He is also a member of "Hakeshet Hademokratit Hamizrahit" and was one of the prosecutor in the "Bagatz Hakarkaot" (land control issue in Israel supreme court).

Dahan lecture and head in The Human Rights Division in Ramat Gan Academic College Of Law. He also teaches Philosophy in Israel's Open University. His major studies includes: land reforms and theories of justice, theories of nationality, the opportunity to equal opportunity, foreign workers rights, and the education reform.

Dahan is a representative as a public representative in Labor Court, lectures in the Social economic College and member of the Aisaf foundation, international education foundation.

In the year 2000 Dahan was nominated as member of Israel's National broadcast network, after verdict from Israel supreme court that dissolve the previous council and order of new council that reflect wider opinions and sectors. Dahan resign after he conclude that his hand his tied due to government interference and interested persons in the council decisions.

Dahan owns the alternative opinions site "Haokets" (Hebrew: העוקץ meaning: the sting) which he founded with his fellow doctor Ishak Saporta. The site deals in social, economical and cultural topics from a criticised point, social-democrat oriented.
