At age 9 Tunday Akintan started visiting Kalakuta RepublicFela Kuti's house,

which was not far from his father's home,[[Tunday Akintan will stay with Fela kuti's band, during fela's band rehearsals when is father asked him to get stuff from corner shop,tunday also became a good friend with felas saxophonist Showman who was a Tenor sax player, because showman allowed tunday to touch saxophone for the first time.

Tunday Akintan has also performed opposite Artists like King Sunny Ade, Koffi Olumide, Tania Maria, Roy Hargrove, Lemar, Kano, Eska, Lagos Jazz, Bill Evans and many others. Tunday Akintan perhaps best known for his work in the African music industry-
