Your comments about my "lying" suggest that written English comprehension isn't your forté; for one thing, I didn't write the piece you claimed to be a "lie", and for another, the sentence that reads "The dominant ethnic group in the northern two-thirds of the country is the Hausa-Fulani" is very clearly meant to denote that "In the northern two-thirds of the Nigerian landmass, the dominant Ethnic group are the Hausa-Fulani." Is your knowledge of Nigerian geography so abysmal that you don't realize that the former Northern Nigeria region does indeed include two-thirds of Nigeria's entire physical space?
As for putting the Yoruba as the largest ethnic group in Nigeria, either you tell me what census you pulled that number from, or you start to make the distinction between what you wish were true and what is true. Not a single reputable source of which I am aware has ever made the outrageous claim you're trying to push on what should be a source of objective information.
The edits you have been making to Wikipedia articles aren't factually correct, are in the main irrelevant, and rarely make much grammatical sense. Even your summaries leave a great deal to be desired - you can't even spell my name right, and you claim to be Yoruba! Listing arbitrary information about the location of NTA stations, stadia and university campuses in an article about an ethnic group is simply crapflooding; such information is better directed to where it properly belongs, i.e, in the descriptive sections of entries related to towns, cities, states and countries.

I just added a note to the discussion page of Oyo trying to figure out the motivations behind adding this information to that page. While I imagine some ideological motives are involved on the side of YorubaMan (inflating numbers), some of this looks to me not like a deliberate attempt to pester but the result of misunderstandings. If so, I hope we can work these out in a friendly manner. I'd suggest a bit of patience and see what time brings from YorubaMan. If he persists in these odd edits you will have my support, for what that is worth. Martijn faassen 01:05, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
He just sent me a wikipedia email saying Oyo is both a kingdom and a city and asking me please not to edit again. I'm not sure what he's getting at, as I didn't edit and of course he doesn't have any claim to stop me from editing in the first place.. Martijn faassen 10:15, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I wouldn't make too much of this guy's message, as I really don't think he has a clue what he's going on about. He keeps insisting on parsing the sentence "The dominant ethnic group in the northern two-thirds of the country is the Hausa-Fulani" as implying that the Hausa-Fulani constitute two-thirds of the country's population, and even sent me an email message accusing me of propagating a "lie" to that effect. Following is a verbatim copy of one of the two messages I've received from him today:
This statement mean that the Hausa-fulani are 2/3 of Nigeria population, this is not the truth, you never made reference to the Land space, because this portion on Nigeria, is about population or demography. And to correct you, the Hausa fulani in term of land coverage is only 1/5 of the land space. Most part of Nigeria is covered in the middlebelt area. The Hausa-fulani area sokoto, kebbi, zamfara, bauchi,Gombe,Jigawa, kano, kaduna,Kastina, and North part of kaduna, when the land space is totaled, is only 210,000 sq Km. and Nigeria is 923,769 sq km. so your state is wrong.
How anyone can possibly take such comments seriously is beyond me. The fact is that the former Northern Region (which is to say, that part of the country that was ruled by Frederick Lugard as a separate country called Northern Nigeria before 1914) does indeed constitute two-thirds of Nigeria's land area, and within that region, the Hausa/Fulani, considered as a single unit, are indeed the dominant ethnic group.

Nigeria and Yoruba
I have protected Nigeria and Yoruba until you and User:Abiola Lapite can resolve your differences on the talk pages of those two articles. The articles are protected because time is being channeled into reverting that should be used to present sources and find the misunderstandings here. I looked over the page histories and some other pages for quite a while and I think that you are not a vandal, you just believe that what you are reverting to is a more correct version of the article. Please have some patience and discuss these issues on Talk:Nigeria and Talk:Yoruba. Once you and User:Abiola Lapite can agree the articles can be unprotected. silsor 22:23, Apr 23, 2004 (UTC)
