it appears to be 'Chief Justice' for every other Chief Justice page i can find in wikipedia, as well as those found in - last i surveyed, 29 - Singapore judgments.

I'm sorry for the mistake, you're right. :) --Terence Ong 16:52, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

The current post is Chief Justice of Singapore. It is not only the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Singapore; the Chief Justice heads the Judiciary and not only the Supreme Court. Therefore, the post should be the "Chief Justice of Singapore".

See this quote from Channelnewsasia: "Mr Chan Sek Keong was sworn in as Singapore's new Chief Justice at the Istana on Tuesday." It does not say sworn in as the "Supreme Court's new Chief Justice". Likewise, as the late Rehnquist CJ said, his appointment is not as the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court, but the Chief Justice of the United States. Since Singapore shares the same tripartite structure of government with the United States, the correct post should the the "Chief Justice of Singapore".
