The Yokohama Municipal Subway consists of the following lines:
- Line 1, from Kannai to Shōnandai, via Kami-Ōoka, Totsuka
- Line 3, from Kannai to Azamino, via Sakuragichō, Yokohama and Shin-Yokohama.
Lines 1 and 3 are currently operated together with trains running through from Shonandai to Azamino. The through service is named as Blue Line. At 40.4 km, this is the second-longest subway in Japan after the Toei Ōedo Line in Tokyo.
The following lines are under construction:
Line 4, named as Green Line, is scheduled for completion in 2007. It will form the first part of the planned Yokohama Loop Line.
The missing Line 2 was supposed to connect Kanagawa-Shinmachi with Byobugaura, along Keikyū Main Line, but it has been cancelled for time being.
Although it runs entirely underground the Minato Mirai Line is generally not considered part of the subway network and is not administered by the Transportation Bureau, but rather the by the Yokohama Minatomirai Railway Company.
