Yockleton
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yockleton is a village in Shropshire, England.
It is west of the county town of Shrewsbury, just off the B4386 to Montgomery and near to the River Severn, at Grid reference grid reference SJ405105 (map). There is one local pub, the Yockleton Arms, several miles west on the B4386, a Village Church (C of E) with its own website, and a village hall, as well as an old people's home in the old Vicarage. Previously Yockleton boasted a school, a garage a post office and a pub right in the heart of the village. These have progressively closed as the village has developed into a commuter village for Shrewsbury. There is a lovely Motte and Bailey in a field not far from the church.
It is near to Ford and Westbury.
