Yngve Hågensen

Yngve Hågensen (born 1938) is a retired Norwegian labour union leader, currently working as a political consultant.
From an early age Hågensen has been active in Norwegian organization life and politics. Ever since 1972 he has been a strong supporter of Norwegian membership in the European Union. He is most notable for his 12 years in office (1989–2001) as leader of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (Landsorganisasjonen or LO in Norwegian).
After his last term as LO leader in 2001 he left the organization, but remains active in Norwegian politics, now as a political consultant. Hågensen is part of the electoral campaign of the Norwegian Labour Party (Arbeiderpartiet or AP in Norwegian). He is also heavily involved in seniour citizen related politics and adult education causes.
He has also written an autobiography titled "Gjør din plikt, krev din rett" (ISBN 82-03-22969-7) (literally "Do your duty, claim your right").
