Yisrael Aharoni (Heb: ישראל אהרוני) (born 1953) is an Israeli chef and restaurateur. Aharoni writes a culinary column for "Seven Days," the weekend magazine of the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth. He is the author of several cookbooks and has appeared on a variety of TV cooking programs.

Aharoni, the son of Bukharian Jews, grew up in Haifa. [1]He discovered Chinese cuisine while studying art in Amsterdam. He travelled to the Far East to master the secrets of Chinese cookery. Upon his return to Israel he opened his first restaurant, "Yin-Yang," on Rothschild Boulevard in Tel-Aviv, and later, "Tai-Chi" in Gan HaIr, Tel-Aviv. In the late 90s, he opened "Tapuach Hazahav" (The Golden Apple), a French gourmet restaurant. [2]
