Yiannos Papantoniou

Yiannos Papantoniou (born 27 July 1949) is a Greek politician, member of the Greek Parliament and former minister of Defence, National Economy and Finance. In the past he has been linked with the pro-European wing of PASOK. He is the main architect behind Greece's economic reforms in the late 90s that led to the implementation of the euro. His relationship with party chairman Giorgos Papandreou has suffered due to a public disagreement over matters of economic policy.
