Yiannis Patilis (Greek: Γιάννης Πατίλης) (b. Athens 1947) is a Greek poet. He read Law and Philology at the University of Athens. He has worked as a high school professor since 1980. He co-founded the literary periodical Tο Δέντρο (The Tree); since 1986 he publishes the periodical Πλανόδιον (Vagrant).
He belongs to the so-called Genia tou 70, which is a literary term referring to Greek authors who began publishing their work during the 1970s, especially towards the end of the Greek military junta of 1967-1974 and at the first years of the Metapolitefsi.[1]
