Cleanup tag added partly because of the POV and promotional tone, and partly because this article should be about the YHA (England & Wales) and currently has a lot of irrelevant information about other associations. These other YHAs should either be given their own articles (as the SYHA does), or, if there isn't enough info to merit separate articles, be merged into Hostelling International. -- Blisco 12:23, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
It seems as if this page is trying to go in about five different directions: the charitable nature of YHA (which isn't really relevant to its function as a hostelling organisation, the types of people who might one day stay at a hostel, the kind of activities... not a whole lot about what someone might be looking for if they search YHA. Having worked on some Wiki-like documentation for Japan and Australia's hostel networks, I'm going to take a stab at this one over the next few days. Travellingcari 00:08, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merger from YHA England & Wales
The source page is almost wholly limited to a list of English and Welsh YHAs. If the content of YHA is to be restricted to the YHA (England & Wales), as suggested in the Cleanup section, then there is no need for two aricles.--ARAJ 17:13, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:YHA England & Wales
This article is now transcluded within YHA. My intention is to create links to another article where the Youth Hostel is mentioned, as is the case with YHA Edale at the moment. I do not intend to add references to Youth Hostels where no reference currently exists, but others may wish to do so.
At this time, the view on Talk:YHA is that YHA should be the location of information about YHA England & Wales. If this view is sustained, this article can be substituted at any time. In the mean time, please do not add anything to this page except the names of current or former Youth Hostels in England or Wales. Thank you.--ARAJ 16:42, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Having an article titled "YHA" means we should really cover the activities of these two rather large organisations. I would actually propose the article be transformed into a redirect to Hostelling International, with a new section being created on that article, but in the absence of such a move, this article should be made more inclusive. [edit] Expansion, categories etc
It srikes me that the YHA is represented less than other organisations of a similar size. I stumbled upon this article looking for historical information on a particular youth hostel. I feel it would be appropriate for some of the larger and historical Youth Hostels (eg Coalport, Ilam) to actually have their own pages. They are certainly as historically significant as some other manor houses etc that have their own pages. Coalport, for example, is the oldest remaining building from the Ironbridge china works.
