Yesterday's Papers is a song by The Rolling Stones from their 1967 album, Between the Buttons. It was the opening track on the UK version of that album, and was included on the US version. It is an example of the Stones' interest in psychedelic rock at the time (which would by further explored on the album Their Satanic Majesties Request). It was the first song Mick Jagger wrote completely on his own for a Rolling Stones album. The song is directed at Jagger's ex-girlfriend Chrissie Shrimpton[citation needed], whose relationship with Jagger at the time turned sour.

Recorded in late 1966, it showcases Brian Jones on mariamba and harpsichord, the lead instruments in the song, Keith Richards on a distorted guitar, with Charlie Watts on drums, and Bill Wyman on bass. With the exception of Watts, the song features all of the Stones doing backing vocals and harmonies. A bootleg recording exists of an alternate backing track, that includes strings.

The song is noted for its apparent negative treatment of women, comparing yesterday's girl to yesterday's papers, something that can be just thrown out. This is exacerbated by the fact that Shrimpton tried to commit suicide over the breakup, which is the subject of the song.

The tune was also covered by Chris Farlowe.
