Yeppoon State High School

Yeppoon State High School, is located in Yeppoon, Queensland, Australia on Rawlings Street.

Opened in 1960, Yeppoon State High School or Yeppoon High as known to locals, comprises 950 students (2006) from an area ranging from Byfield to the north, Zilzie to the south, and Mount Chalmers and Cawarral in the west.

Yeppoon State High School is the only Government-run secondary school on the Capricorn Coast. A new Central Queensland Institute of TAFE campus is located adjacent to the school just behind the agricultural farm.

The current principal of the school is Ms Roseanne McDade who has been principal since 2001 and deputy principals Mark Asher and Lesley Andrews who is on 6 months leave at Mount Morgan school and is being replaced by Matthew McCarthy.

- The school has an agricultural farm that has cows, horses, goats, chickens.

- The school has a new art block that was built at the start of the year.

- Yeppoon High has two ovals, a smaller oval and a large oval that has been resurfaced with new grass and had it's officially opening at the start of August!

- Yeppoon High has an Amnesty International & A Peace Group

- The school has its own african sponsor child named Geoffrey they support through Christian Children's fund.

- The school has also had animal welfare projects which include the donation of blankets to BARPO.

- Students also contributed funds to AIDS research.

- The school has an early childhood class that is offered to year 11 & 12 students, It teaches students about childcare, disablities, etc. For an assessment students get a virtual baby that they have to burp, look after, feed, change its diaper.

- The school has a magazine that can be brought at the end of each year called the Malnkana.
