[edit] hi, regarding Mali

I finally figured out how to talk to you. I thought you didn't have a page cuz the link to your name went nowhere. As far as the Mali Empire page is concerned, I admit I'm a bit defensive. It is kinda my baby and 90% of the info there was put by me after literally weeks of digging through books and websites. No one was really eager to help me get it off the ground and I had to discover the ins and outs of wiki on my lonesome (as I'm sure you probably had to). I still don't know how to properly put up pictures (and I got a lot of good ones, too). Still I digress. The main reason I'm writing is because I felt and still feel your grading of the article was wrong. There were only positive changes in the article since its initial rating, so for its grade to go down didn't make any sense. I'm also pretty clueless on the criteria for grading (not so much how to grade but who can grade). Apparently anyone from wikiAfrica project can do so, and that's cool. But since I'm also a member I figure my input is just as valid. I'm sure your input is too and don't mean to sound dismissive (TEMPER, TEMPER). I hope you see where I'm coming from. If wiki's grading works in a way to where everyone can grade a page, then I believe it is only proper that the average of that grade be displayed for the page. The first grade was GA; yours is B. I honestly believe it is a GA cuz it does need some polish. All together, I think an average of GA is what we'd come out with. Please hit me back and let me know what you think and sorry if I came off like an a@@.

[edit] Image:KingoKingdom.jpg

Hi. Long time no chat. I'm writing in regard to the Image:KingoKingdom.jpg. I'm not 100% (or even 50%) that the manikongo depicted in it is Afonso I of Kongo. Still, it is a great picture and thank you so much for finding it. I've recently come across some pics myself. I added the coat of arms and put up a picture of Joao I of Kongo plus an image of the Kongo flag. Could u please hit me back and let me know how u found out this picture is showing Afonso. If we can't discern that much, I strongly suggest we add the picture to the Manikongo page. It would fit there very well. Thnx for listening and keep up all the good work.  :) Scott Free 12:51, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Thnx for hitting me back. I went thru the link and looked elsewhere on the sight but couldn't finde a caption or anything that said it was Afonso. Could u provide me with a link to the page where u saw it at. The link on the image just brings you to the image. I know that it is an image of the manikongo. i've become very familiar with Kongo and its relationship with Portugal in the last couple of months (wish I'd started studying them earlier). Holla back when u can. Scott Free 12:35, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
