Status is disputed with Grand Rabbi Ben Zion Aryeh Leibish Halberstam of Bobov

Rabbi Yehoshua Rubin of Bobov (אבד"ק באבוב שליט"א) (b. 1952) is a son-in-law of the late Grand Rabbi Naftali Zvi Halberstam (1931-2005) of Bobov.

Following the death of his father-in-law, Grand Rabbi Naftali Zvi Halberstam, Bobov split in two, with many Bobover Hasidim accepting as his successor, his sons-in-law Rabbi Mordechai Dovid Unger as their rebbe (אדמו"ר) and Rabbi Yehoshua Rubin as their ruv (אבד"ק), while many chose to follow his brother, Rabbi Ben Zion Aryeh Leibish Halberstam.

Before the funeral of Grand Rabbi Naftali Zvi Halberstam, his sons-in-law, Rabbi Mordechai Duvid Unger and Rabbi Yehoshua Rubin, were both announced as the successors of their father-in-law in the presence of the lay president of Bobov, Rabbi Moshe Meir Einhorn. How to divide the leadership was left up to them. On the next day the coronation of Rabbi Mordechai Duvid Unger as rebbe and Rabbi Yehoshua Rubin as ruv took place in the Beis Yaakov building (its temporary Beth Midrash) on 45th Street in Boro Park.

Rabbi Yehoshua Rubin is a son of Grand Rabbi Mordechai Rubin of Sasregen.
