Yehoshua Porath (Hebrew: יהושע פורת) is Professor Emeritus of Middle East History (formerly Associate Professor of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies,then Lecturer in the History of the Muslim Countries([1] at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He specializes in the history of the Palestinian nationalist movement and related issues. In the 1992 election, he was the 13th name on the list of Meretz candidates to Knesset. Porath describes his own politics as "centrist".[2]
