Linguistics
- Yed is also a slang word used in some regions of Southern England for the word yes. It has featured in a song by a small rap group called The Beauty and the Essence of the Bitty in a line which reads: "...hed hed hed, yed yed yed wit smeg..."
- Yed originated from a fusion between the words hed and yesz (the latter also meaning yes), words which have redefined Kentish slang. Other mutations of these words include hesz, yedwood, yewoosz, hewoosz and mnyesz. These, of course, are not as widely used.
- In the Thai language, fuck translates to เย็ด (yed) and motherfucker to เย็ดแม่ (yed mae).
