List of Cyrillic letters

Ye with grave (majuscule: Ѐ, minuscule: ѐ) is a Cyrillic character representing a stressed variant of regular letter е. This combination is not a separate letter of alphabet. Most regularly it is used in Macedonian language to prevent ambiguity in certain cases: "И не воведи нè во искушение, но избави нè од лукавиот" = "And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil", or: "Сè што ќе напишете може да се употреби против вас!" = "All that you'll write can be used (literally: it can use itself) against you" etc. Ѐ can also be found in accented Serbian or Church Slavonic texts, as well as in older (19th century or earlier) Russian books. Recently, Russian stressed vowels are typically marked with acute accent instead of grave accent.
