I just removed a couple of comments. In answer to the question they posed - the reason they didn't put more ammo in the ball turret is that it wouldn't fit more than 300 rounds + 2 .50 guns + a person. Additional ammo would have been passed in from the other positions as needed.

Isn't that pretty much complete fabrication? I understand that whilst Italians did briefly fly one P-38, entire YB-40 story is made up. Martin Caidin is hardly a trustworthy source. --82.128.184.86 16:49, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
