As of 2001 India census[1], Yawal had a population of 31,799. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Yawal has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 59%. In Yawal, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Yawal is very ancient city has very old fort it was belong to the 'SANSTHANIK RAJE NIMBALKAR'but there is no documentory proof for it. In yawal there is two temples one is very ancient temple of 'SHREE JAGATGURU VED MAHARSHI VYAS MUNI'who the MAHABHARATA & other very ancient temple is 'TARKESHWAR MANDIR'.

Yawal has 2 rivers(Harita & Sarita) and it was very prosperous city.In Yawal taluka,'KULSWAMINI MANUDEVI TEMPLE'which is 25KM long from Yawal.MANUDEVI place has water fall it is very nice place in rainy season.

From MANUDEVI place there is a GAVALI WADA having the 9-10KM long wall. It is Located on Barhanpur-Ankaleshwar Highway.
