Yatton, Herefordshire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yatton is a small village in north-western Herefordshire, England.
It is about eight miles north-west of Leominster, and 12 miles south-west of Ludlow. It is just off the A4110 road.
The village contains some brick-arched barns and old cottages, converted barns and large farmhouses and lies close to Croft Castle and its estate; the Mortimer Trail waymarked walk passes close by.
The area used to be the site of a large stone quarry but the site has been reclaimed, landscaped and replanted.
The countryside around is particularly quiet, scenic, varied and contains plenty of wildlife such as buzzards.
The local schools are Wigmore High school and Wigmore Primary school.
