Yasuhito Endō (遠藤 保仁 Endō Yasuhito?, born January 28, 1980) is a Japanese footballer from Kagoshima City in Kagoshima Prefecture. Short and stocky, the versatile midfielder usually operates as a defensive midfielder, and currently plays for the J-league team Gamba Osaka.[1] Since 2003, Endō has been a member of the Japanese national football team, and has been selected for Japan's 2006 World Cup squad.[2]

He has emerged as a key player in defensive midfield for the national team in recent seasons, where his two-way skills, both in defending and attacking, is highly valued. His good attacking skills such as dribbling and his marvelous passing allow him to play as an attacking midfielder effectively.

Yasuhito Endō is well known for his trade mark passing skills and free kick skills.
