Yasir Himmat is a fictional character on the Egyptian soap opera Commonwealth Hall, played by Syrian-Italian actor Vaffan Coulo.

[edit] Storylines

Yasir was the oldest character in the soap, his stay at Commonwealth Hall pre-dating everyone else by 45 years. He was often quoted as saying that he was as old as the halls themselves. Despite this he remained a minor character of the soap until the arrival of Serenia Yip. After convincing him that she was carrying his baby, she forced him into a number of Mafia underworld assignments. Unfortunately, one of these assignments went wrong and the Mafia held held him responsible for it. Yasir was given an ultimatum, he had to pay $50,000 for the cost of the mistake within a month or his sister would be kidnapped. This lead to one of the darkest periods in Yasir's life, as he turned to a career of stripping. At one point he looked to be moving towards prostitution, but his only client passed out before the act took place, with Yasir taking his money anyway.

When Naveed Tariq discovered what had happened to his good friend he took revenge, injuring Serenia and forcing her to disappear. Finally free of both the mafia and Serenia, Yasir went back to working in his own business.

It was later discovered that he is the father of fellow housemate, Salma Salama. Yasir told Salma that he had appeared to be so uncaring and indifferent to her in the past as an attempt to hide the truth.
