Yas Taalat

Yas Taalat (born in Sudbury, Ontario) is a Canadian recording artist, co-founder and lead singer of the gold selling status band Project Wyze and the hip hop group Dead Celebrity Status. Though born in Canada his parents hail from Morocco. He is Muslim and talks about the pain of being one in the world today in Dead Celebrity Status song In This Day and Age featuring Jeordie White aka twiggy ramirez from Marilyn Manson and Bif Naked.

Yas and Bobby are also music video directors and received their first award for the directorial debut of their hit single We Fall, We Fall. Yas was quoted in an interview that he was beginning to work on a couple of different screenplays and looks forward to directing a feature film in the future.

Since making music and performing since he was 13 years old, he has blessed the stage with some of the world biggest and best artists like Ozzy, Tool, De La Soul, Blink 182, Marilyn Manson, Public Enemy, Sum 41, Jurassic 5, Tech N9ne, Gym Class Heroes, AFI and Linkin Park to name a few. As well as taking part in The Vans Warped Tour, OZZFEST and Edgefest.

Yas is known to use different aliases such as 3letterword, Donnie Darko and Silver Surfer.

He is an avid basketball fan and can be found during the NBA season at the Air Canada Centre cheering on his Toronto Raptors where he is a long time season ticket holder.
