Yarmouth (UK Parliament constituency)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yarmouth has been the name of two parliamentary constituencies in England:

  • The Great Yarmouth constituency, centred on the town of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, has sometimes been known as "Yarmouth". It was created as a borough constituency in 1298, and has been represented in Parliament ever since, apart from a brief suspension between 1868 and 1885; when the name was used for a county constituency of Norfolk.
  • The Yarmouth (Isle of Wight) constituency was centred on the town of Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight. It was created in 1584 and disenfranchised in 1832.
