Yarmouk (Baghdad)

Yarmouk (Arabic,اليرموك) is a neighborhood in Southern Baghdad, Iraq near the Mansour district just north of the intersection of ‎Baghdad Airport Road and Hilla Road. It is a formerly upscale Sunni Muslim area that was once home to members of high-ranking officials from Saddam Hussein's regime. Yarmouk was cited in a May 2007 USA Today Story as being helped by the Baghdad Security Plan. [1] A Joint Security Station was set up here in April 2007. [2]

Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital, along with The Medical College of Mustansiriya University and Nablus Primary School are located here. [3]
