[edit] Barefoot Rick

A tag has been placed on Rick Roeber requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Grey Wanderer | Talk 00:10, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Please do not removes speedy deletion templates, you may add the template "hangon" if you disagree. There are instructions on the template itself.-Grey Wanderer | Talk 00:12, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Rick Roeber

I have nominated Rick Roeber, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rick Roeber. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Tijuana Brass (talk) 00:24, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Good. Make sure to include what you posted on my talk page to the AfD discussion. Since I opened the AfD, I'm not the one who will close it (since it'd be a conflict of interest); consequently, it'll be more helpful if you make mention of this where others will see it. Adding a comment on the changes you've made there will help the closing admin to see what's been done. Tijuana Brass (talk) 21:44, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
By the way, regarding your comment on the AfD, don't feel that you need to stay behind the scenes, as it were. If you find something like this, stepping up with it can often mean the difference between keeping an article and deleting it - and the goal should always be to keep something, if we can. Good work. [edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 18:14, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rick Roeber

I've changed to "keep" at AfD. Well done for the effort put in. Looks good with the picture too :-) Cheers. Sting_au Talk 10:19, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Seconded. You really did a good job bringing the article up to par; were it not for you, it may have been deleted. Even though I started the AfD, my own preference is to keep an article whenever possible - which is what you helped to happen here. Great work. Tijuana Brass (talk) 21:30, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
