    [edit] Merge

    • Set up merge request. Reasons: Yariguies Brush Finch was the first article, it is better structured, and while non-US convention is to hyphenate composite vernaculars, the correct version as per HBW SOP would be "Yariguies Brush-finch" anyway. Dysmorodrepanis 22:04, 11 October 2006 (UTC) ADD: All Atlapetes are currently listed on WP as "Brush Finch"es as per AOU convention. Dysmorodrepanis 22:07, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] how can we have a legitimate pic to accompany this article?

    hi,

i had a bot remove my shared AP photo (that CNN, NYtimes, etc. all have used) because they did not like my source info. however, this is clearly a rare species in an obscure part of the world. how in the heck are we supposed to obtain a legit photo for this topic???

You might try asking tdonegan@proaves.org or b.huertas@nhm.ac.uk whether they'd be willing to give one out to put on the Commons under CC-2.5-SA-BY. That way, all Wikipedians could use it. Dysmorodrepanis 22:23, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Have added an illustration in response to request on my talk page. I am not very familiar with South American Atlapetes finches, so please let me know if any modifications are needed in the illustration. Shyamal 04:49, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

wow...thanks...that's an excellent illustration! i'll contact the proaves organization to see if they can provide us with a "wiki-acceptable" photo :-)
