Yankee Quill Award

The Yankee Quill Award is a regional American journalism award that recognizes excellence in the print media of New England. It is administered annually by the New England Society of Newspaper Editors and the New England Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in Boston, Massachusetts. It is considered the highest individual honor awarded by fellow journalists in the region.

Recent recipients have included Eileen McNamara, a professor of journalism at Brandeis University; James Taricani, an investigative reporter for WJAR TV in Providence, Rhode Island; Larry McDermott, publisher of The Republican in Springfield, Massachusetts, and president of the Massachusetts Newspaper Publishers Association; Barbara Walsh, a reporter at The Eagle-Tribune in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and; Michael Donoghue, a sportswriter at The Free Press in Burlington, Vermont, and executive director of the Vermont Press Association.[1]
