Yandamoori Veerendranath (Telugu: తెలుగు) is a Telugu author; people recognize him easily by his surname Yandamoori.

Born on 14 November 1948 at rajolu, East Godavari Dist, Andhra Pradesh as son of Mr. Yandamoori Chakrapani (worked as Income Tax employee) and Mrs. Yandamoori Narasamaamba.

He did his schooling at Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Jammalamadugu, Anantapuram and Hyderabad. And he has studied B.Com at Kakinada. Later at 1972 he finished his Chartered Accountancy at ICAI and has become a Chartered Accountant.

Veerendranath is a man who believes dignity of labor. During his schooldays, he used to conduct tuitions. And while doing B.Com, he has worked in accounts department of a company where he has to write the cash flow statements.

After finishing Chartered Accountancy, he has worked for 5 years in State Financial Corporation and for 10 years as Chief officer in Andhra Bank Small Scale Industries dept. He has resigned his job to concentrate more on literature.

Yandamoori Veerendranath has got married to Anugeetha on 10 March 1974. Their son Mr. Praneeth Yandamoori, an MBA graduate from INSEAD of France and is now working as a Business Planning and Control Executive with a multinational company.

Mr. Veerendranath is a multi-faceted character, being a playwright, novelist, movie director, personality development motivator and a Sahitya Academy award winner.

In Telugu literature, there has been dark days for male writers as female writers like Yaddanapoodi Sulochana Rani were ruling the hearts of people with all necessary sentimental stuff. Many writers used to write stories and novels with female pen names. Yandamoori is such a writer who broke these mental blocks of readers as well as fellow writers and has come up with his story TULASI DALAM without using any pen names. He wrote about 50 novels including Vennello Aadapilla, Antarmukham. His works are translated into Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, English, Hindi, and Marathi.

His personality development book Vijayaniki 5 metlu (Success in Five Steps) has broken the all time record of Telugu literature, by crossing a turnover of Rupees Two Crores.

He has started Saraswati Vidya Peetham at Kakinada, a one-crore project, to educate Tribal and poor students the importance of education and personality development.

Yandamuri Veerendranath is one of the best-known contemporary novelists writing in the Telugu language. He is a native of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Many of his novels have been made into motion pictures in Telugu.

He first film as a dialogue writer, won best regional award from President of India. His films include ‘Abhilasha’, 'Marana Mrudangam', 'Challenge', 'Jagadeka Veerudu – Athiloka Sundari'. His TV Serials won two Golden Nandi award. He also directed a film with Mega-Star Chiranjeevi.
