Yanagiman is a Japanese musician, songwriter and arranger who have worked with many different artists, both Japanese and foreign. He was born in November 1960 in Kagoshima prefecture on the Japanese island of Kyūshu. As a child and teenager he lived in many different places across Japan, and from elementary school to junior high school he sang in the choirs of the schools he went to. When he went to university he joined a band playing the guitar. Their style was primarily funk. Yanagiman eventually left his university studies unfinished to pursue a career in music. Currently he runs his own recording studio, Nothin' to Loose Studio.
