- This is a Chinese name; the family name is Yan (閻).
Yan Xing the son-in-law of Han Sui. During the battle with Ma Teng, Yan Xing became well known for his skill by cornering Ma Chao. Yan Xing later persuaded Han Sui to join Cao Cao, but Han Sui already was an ally to Ma Chao and drove him away. After Yan Xing heard of this, he decided to then personally join Cao Cao instead.
