[edit] Basic Info
The Robot Guitar is a Les Paul style guitar from Gibson.[1] It's primary feature is a built-in automatic tuning computer that automatically tensions and tunes the guitar's strings. It is due for a limited release of a special edition on 7th December 2007 in select stores, and a general release in early 2008. [2] This is not the first guitar that is capable of tuning itself. Other similar products have been released in the past.[3]
[edit] How It Works
To tune the Robot Guitar, all that you have to do pull out the tuning knob which is located near the volume control knobs. Then, make sure that your left hand is off of the Fretboard and then strum all strings open. The Robot Guitar automatically tunes all strings perfectly. If you would like to do a different type of tuning such as a "Drop-D" tuning, you pull out the tuning nob and then turn it to the "Drop-D" tuning light. Then strum. When all strings are tuned, all six tuning lights will go from red to green, indicating that your guitar has been properly tuned. This is the feature that makes the robot guitar so unique; it tunes itself.
