Dear Mr. Davis: In an internet search for a photo of Yanga, the rebel slave of colonial Mexico, I found an article by you at the address http://www.ourmexico.com/story.php?storyID=30 I was looking for a photo because I was writing an article about Yanga for Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an open-source encyclopedia that anyone can edit. (the article can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaspar_Yanga )I think that your photo would be a nice addition to the article. The catch is, wikipedia is free and uncopyrighted, which means posting the photo requires the copyright holder to release his/her rights. I ask that if you hold the copyright on the photo (or any very similar photo of the statue), you waive your rights, so that the picture can be posted for all to see. If you're willing to do this, let me know, or if not, at least look at the article and edit it if you think it needs changes :) Sincerely, Erudy

Be my guest. It would be an honor to be in Wikipedia with or without credit for the photo. Actually the camera took the picture. And someone else created the statute. Can you copy from Ourmexico or do you need another? I'd have to reload my computer as all photos from that period were saved on a disk before I switched from a PC to a Mac. Could I ask, how you came to write about Yanga? Best regards, Dick
