Not to be confused with Yampil, a city in Vinnytsia Oblast.
Yampil (Ukrainian: Ямпіль; Russian: Ямполь; Yiddish: יאמפאלא) is a town in the Khmelnytskyi Oblast, in the Volyn region of western Ukraine. It is located 25 miles SE of Kremenets.

The Jewish community of Yampil dates back to the 15th century, and maybe much earlier than that. Its most distinguished rabbi was Rabbi Yechezkel Landau, the Noda Bihuda. Yampil wa also the seat of a number of distinguished hasidic leaders.[1]
