The Yamaha YZF1000R Thunderace is a motorcycle produced by Yamaha from 1996 until 2003.
The motorcycle is powered by Yamaha's 1002 cc 20-valve forward-slanting liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine. It is equipped with downdraught carburettors, throttle position sensor, gear position sensor, and a torque-boosting Exup system for low to mid-range performance with a claimed 145 bhp at 10,000 rpm and a top speed is of over 160 mph.
