The Yamaha XT 125 R Is a single cylinder enduro/adventure bike produced by Yamaha motor company since the 2003 model year. It shares its modest power plant with the ybr 125, the DT 125 RE and its super motard brother the Yamaha XT 125 X. While parts such as the transmission, chasis,are produced in Japan, the engine in Brazil the motorbike is assembled in Italy, Bologna for the european market by the Italian bike company Malaguti.
The "classic" the XT 125R has all the ingredients of the typical Yamaha XT family, being a true dual purpose machine. The 21 inch front wheel and the 18 inch rear with the typical Enduro style tyres make it fit for both road and off-road use. Seat height and ground clearance are higher comparing to the Supermotard version and the machine features the typical dual purpose handling characteristics, which makes it suitable for a wide range of duties, from crossing rough city roads to small country lanes or paths.
The bike is very suitable to be a learners bike due to its light weight and high torque composition; That said the XT 125 R is suitable for any kind of rider making it truly an intermediate bike.
The XT range debut was in 1976 with the breathtaking XT 500 single 4-stroke "toque hammer" Later other models followed spreading from XT 125 to the latest XT 660. Both ranges of XT and DT represent the typical Yamaha model development consistency, with model refinements over a long period of time, resulting in truly well developed products customers can depend on.
As of the 2008 model year, Yamaha is still producing and marketing the XT 125 R.
