[edit] cleaned up

I have removed

It is becoming a very successful small town in recent times, with , and numerous awards being presented to vaious businesses located here, as well as the town itself.

I suggest identifying and referencing the awards to show their significance. Any town can award the only butcher the "Best Butcher Shop in Yamba" award for example. The quantity of awards is not significant without some context of what the awards are judged against.

I kept the two specifics, but references for the Tidy Towns award and 3rd best town award would be good.--Scott Davis Talk 10:15, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

How could a town be discovered before it was founded??!!! - James Griffin, 29th March 2006

[edit] Discovery

Aboriginal people lived in the area for thousands of years before Matthew Flinders was anywhere near the place, so I have reworded the reference to his so-called discovery. 2006-08-10.
