Yala is a region located in Northern part of Cross River State, Nigeria. The chairman of Yala is Hon. Fidel Egoro. Yala consists of many cities and communities. One of the biggest city in Yala is Okpoma home of Bishop Ukpo. Other areas in Yala are Ugaga home of senator Lawyer Greg Ngaji, along with Okuku, Ijegu, Oloko, Imaje, Oke, Echumoga, Yehe, Yache and many more. Yala is also a language spoken by the inhabitants of Yala.
Yala Local Government Area is blessed with abundant salt deposit which can sustain any salt industry in the areas. The Local Government Area also offers wide range of investment opportunities in agro-based industries as well as solid mineral industries.
