Yakuza 3 or 龍が如く 見参! (Ryū ga Gotoku Kenzan!) as it is known in Japan is the third installment in the Yakuza video game series. It is being developed and published by Sega exclusively for the PlayStation 3.[1] The game is not set in modern day as the previous installments have been, but rather in the Edo period in 1605. There are four fighting styles in the game; fists, one blade, two blades and big blade. Heat moves are special moves that the player can execute, but these have not been specified as of yet.[2]

The game was released in March 6th, 2008 in Japan, while North American and European releases are not confirmed at present.

Two playable demos and a movie trailer were released on January 7, 2008 via the Japanese Playstation Network Store. The first demo included sandbox play, and the second had a collection of various combat and romantic gameplay segements. [3]
