Yagan Railway

The Yagan Railway Co.,Ltd. (野岩鉄道株式会社 Yagan Tetsudō Kabushiki-gaisha?) is Japan's railway company (kabushiki kaisha) whose major shareholders include Tochigi and Fukushima prefectural governments. It operates its only line, Aizu Kinugawa Line (会津鬼怒川線 Aizu Kinugawa-sen?).
"Yagan" (野岩) is the kanji acronym of the ancient Shimotsuke (下野国, current Tochigi Prefecture) and Iwashiro Provinces (岩代国, current Fukushima Prefecture).

[edit] Aizu Kinugawa Line
The Yagan Railway Aizu Kinugawa Line (野岩鉄道会津鬼怒川線 Yagan Tetsudō Aizu Kinugawa-sen?) is a 30.7 kilometre railway line from Shin-Fujiwara Station in Nikkō, Tochigi to Aizu-Kōgen Oze-guchi Station Minamiaizu, Fukushima, Fukushima Prefecture. Its nickname is the Hot Spa. Line (ほっとスパ・ライン Hotto Supa Rain?, lit. Relaxing Spa. Line).
The name of the line is from the Aizu area of Fukushima Prefectures and Kinugawa hot spring resort area, the line connects.

(From the south to the north) Shin-Fujiwara Station (origin, connects Tōbu Kinugawa Line), Ryūōkyō Station, Kawaji-Onsen Station, Kawaji-Yumoto Station, Yunishigawa-Onsen Station, Nakamiyori-Onsen Station, Kamimiyori-Shiobara Onsen-guchi Station, Ojika-Kōgen Station, Aizu-Kōgen Oze-guchi Station (terminus, connects Aizu Railway Aizu Line).

The construction began as a part of the Japan Railway Construction Corporation. It was taken over by Yagan Railway.
9 October 1986: Starts operations.
12 October 1990: Direct service onto Aizu-Tajima Station on Aizu Railway Aizu Line begins.
18 March 2006: The nickname Hot Spa. Line debuts.
