[edit] POV Issues

Sorry for the POV issues in the history here. Half of it was written 4 years ago by non-native English speaker (if I remember correctly) and the rest is my work taken directly from our own manual/wiki (where obviously POV is, for the most part, a non-issue). I was hoping someone not related to YaBB would clean this up, but seeing as how that hasn't happened yet, would anyone have a problem if I tried to fix what I can? Full disclosure: I'm an administrator with the project. Juvenall 02:12, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

If it would improve the article, then I say go for it. If someone not related to YaBB wants to contribute at a later time, they can do so then. ~BRO-co03 03:59, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] reputation?

On the SMF page, there is this line: "SMF was created to replace the forum software YaBB SE, which at the time was gaining a bad reputation because of problems with its Perl based equivalent and similarly named software YaBB".

But when I click the YaBB link (that is, going here) there is no mention of YaBB's reputation, bad or good. So what's up with YaBB rep wise? 85.227.226.168 14:49, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] rewrite

I'm going to start the process of writing a new history section that will hopefully meet the NPOV guidelines. I also hope to get the other sections to be 'better'. I don't have a ton of time to do it all at once, so bear with me if the article is not complete or is missing a few parts. I am a team member, but I'm tired of seeing all the banners on the top of our page, so I've decided it's time to clean up the article. I should be able to stay neutral, but if I screw up a part, I'm sure someone will come along and delete it... Mattsiegman (talk) 17:50, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] advert and reference tags

I removed the references tag, as it is no longer relevant. I also removed the advertisement tag. I'm rewriting the history section to add some meat to this article--this entry has been rewritten numerous times and yet, the further details are continually deleted. This doesn't happen to other forum entries--and it's rather frustrating. Wikipedia is all about collaboration, and it's always good to hear things from the other editors about how the article can be improved instead of just deleting a three page section of the thing... Sorry, I'm just a bit frustrated today. I realize that people have better things to do than rewrite the article, but I'm more than open to suggestions on how to fix it...
