[edit] Format
The show is presented by Gareth Roberts, analysis is provided by Brynmor Williams, commentary is provided by Huw Llewelyn Davies and former Wales captain Gwyn Jones is the touchline reporter, as was Ray Gravell, until his death, in October 2007.
Three main rugby union competitions are broadcast live on Y Clwb Rygbi as of the 2006-07 season. The Magners (formerly Celtic) League and EDF Energy Cup are the two domestic competitions shown whilst the Six Nations Championship is broadcast under the title "Y Clwb Rygbi Rhyngwladol" (English: The International Rugby Club). Other international matches involving Wales are also shown on Y Clwb Rygbi. Highlights of the Principality Premiership and the Konica Minolta Cup are shown, with the final of the Konica Minolta Cup being televised live.
During Magners League and EDF Energy Cup weekends, a live game is shown on Saturday afternoon whilst highlights are shown on Monday evening. A live game is occasionally shown on Sunday.
The other rugby union competitions which S4C have the rights to show have separate programmes, namely Cwpan Heineken for Heineken Cup and Le Rygbi for French Top 14. The three programmes share some presenters and commentators.
[edit] Awards
In both 1999 and 2005 the programme won the BAFTA Cymru Best Live Coverage/Outside Broadcast award.[2][3]
In 2002 the programme won the Royal Television Society Regional Sports Programme of the Year award, becoming the first Welsh language programme to win a RTS Sport Award.[4]
