Yūkarigaoka
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yūkarigaoka (ユーカリが丘?) is a new town in Chiba prefecture, north east of Tokyo, Japan. Administratively, whole the town belongs to Sakura City.
Its unique name literally means "Eucalyptus Hills", although there were no Eucalyptus trees until the development.
It takes about 50 minutes by Keisei train from Ueno Station. Its own train station, Yūkarigaoka, is served by the Keisei Line and Yamaman Yukarigaoka Line, a people mover system with a Koala for a logo that serves the local area.
The movie Einstein Girl (アインシュタインガール) takes place in this town, featuring High-rise apartments, nature (such as Lake Inba-numa), as well as the people mover.
