AFD Templates
You may not have noticed, but on USS Illinois (BB-65) and USS Kentucky (BB-66), the AFD template has been integrated into {{ArticleHistory}} on the talk page. While not as visible, the information is still there. This was implemented to reduce the amount of template clutter on the talk page. -MBK004 16:45, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't notice. I'm sorry for the clutter. I had not previously seen that type of AfD notice, and thought that it had been forgotten. I just wanted to be certain that the information was noted on the page. Thanks for the education. Xymmax (talk) 16:55, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

- No problem. {{ArticleHistory}} is an amazing template when you consider all the templates that have been integrated into it. -MBK004 17:13, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Articles for deletion/List of claims made by Zeitgeist, the Movie
- I just created this page a week ago Friday (Jan 25) and so far I have been the only editor of this page, but I would like to avoid having it deleted in the hope that other editors will collaborate on it with me.
- I want to let you know that many things have changed regarding this article since you voted to have it deleted.
-
- I have fully read and responded to every Wikipedia guideline that I have been referred to,
- I have modified my plans for the article and changed the way I view the subject in order to fit within those guidelines,
- I have explained my position and my goals in detail on the AfD for the page,
- and I have completely blanked the talk page of the article since most of the concerns about guidelines involved the talk page and not the actual article.
- I am sure you will find that I have made a great effort to contribute to the usefulness and quality of Wikipedia, and that my actions are motivated by a desire to improve Wikipedia and to keep Wikipedia neutral.
- I believe that the only guidelines my article can still be accused of violating are those concerning "notability" and "lists of random facts" and being that this is such a young article, I urge you to revisit the article, the AfD for the article, as well as the article's talk page, and make sure that you still feel that the article needs to be deleted right now.
- Thank-you for your time, and I appreciate your efforts in keeping Wikipedia clutter-free!
- Sincerely,
Jack Deth followup
Hey, wanted to check up with you about Jack Deth; it looks like it's been un-redirected since the AfD. Do you happen to know anything about this? GlassCobra 04:23, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

James Van Der Beek Real Name
I recieved your message that you removed the information I added to the James Van Der Beek discussion page regarding how he changed his name and birthdate. You said I have to cite reliable sources. I went to high school with James/Gary in Portland Oregon. We graduated together in 1988. Doesn't that make me a reliable source? I know him personally. I heard him talk about these things - both before he changed his name to James Van Der Beek to become a star and then even afterwards at our high school reunion where he bragged about it. What more reliable source can there be than an eye witness? ElBrazoOnofre (talk) 15:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
James Van Der Beek/ Jake Busey/ James Franco Real Names reply
I did go to high school with James Van Der Beek, Jake Busey, and James Franco. But in those days their names were Gary Stildwell (who changed his name to James Van Der Beek), Dustin Kilborne (who changed his name to Jake Busey), and Benjamin Goldstein (who changed his name to James Franco). They also changed their birth dates. I am an eye witness. I know these are facts. I have year books with pictures that show beyond all reasonable doubt that Gary, Dustin, and Ben are really these actors. I also went to school with one of the Travolta family and I can tell you as a fact that they are not Italian. John Travolta family's real name is Bieze. They're German, not Italian. My brother also worked at a gas station with Brad Pitt when they were teenagers, except he hadn't yet invented the name Brad Pitt. Back then his name was Christian Scott. And, he totally lies about his height because I met Christian (Brad) and he couldn't have been more than 5 foot 7 inches tall. I don't understand why adding the truth so that it can be discussed would be considered vandalism. I've pointed out these things on IMDb and they don't get erased there. Sure the blind people who don't know about how these people change their names and make up phony histories argue at first but once I point out I went to high school with them and know them personally then everyone understands its the truth. I'm not trying to argue. I'm not trying to vandalize. But shouldn't people know the truth? ElBrazoOnofre (talk) 19:11, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
go ahead
Contrary to what some people seem to believe i had in mind, I did see deletion of the noticeboard as a viable outcome of the MFD, but it looks like the community has spoken. —Random832 20:45, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
User:The Fat Man Who Never Came Back
You listed the wrong person. SakuraSong has already been blocked. bibliomaniac15 04:53, 14 February 2008 (UTC) I sure did. I was trying to fix it when I got your message. Thanks, and sorry. Xymmax (talk) 04:54, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, get your facts straight. I may be a vandal, but I wasn't vandalizing at the moment you reported[1] me.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back (talk) 05:02, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
As I said, my fault. I actually tried to revert Sakura's edit to your talk page and report him, but reported you instead. Consider me slapped with a wet noodle. Xymmax (talk) 05:04, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Re:USS
I have added a note on the talk pages for Illinois and Kentucky regarding the USS designation. Does this satsify your concern, or would you feel better if there was a mention in the article itself? TomStar81 (Talk) 03:35, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- That's fine for me. Ideally I think that it could go in the article, but frankly, I don't think its worth messing with a couple of featured articles over. Thanks for the attention. Xymmax (talk) 14:13, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Quite the opposite, actually: its input like this that keeps articles here featured. A mention is now in both articles as per your suggestion. TomStar81 (Talk) 07:46, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I just wanted to let you know I removed the speedy tag on this article because Google actually backed up the text of the stub enough that I didn't think speedy applied, although of course you may want to AfD it. On an unrelated note, I noticed your generous offer above re: your user page layout. If you don't mind, I'd also be interested in borrowing it - mine looks like this, and could only be helped. Thanks, Xymmax (talk) 17:29, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks for the heads up on this one. I ran a (Really) quick search on it myself, but unlike you, i didn't find anything that made me think it was notable. Just an issue of speed i guess. On the user page template: Of course you can use it! I originally designed them for my own user page, but anyone who wants to use them is free to do so. As above, do with them what you want, as long as you don't claim you made it. Optionally you might want to consider leaving the bottom div that states "Omega Purple Template - Excirial 2007" in tact so that people will know where to find the unmodified version. And apart from that, i always like to hear from people who would like to use the templates i made. At least that means its generally appreciated which is something that just nice to know :) Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 17:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
