This is a Chinese name; the family name is Xu (徐).

Xu Miao a minister of the Three Kingdoms Period that was the protector of Liang during the First Northern Campaign. Miao was known as quite an avid drinker, breaking the prohibition law at one time, but cleverly managed to explain his way out of it. Miao became quite a popular historical figure after this event.
