[edit] Beginnings

Xtreme was formed in 2003 by the record label 2 Strong Entertainment. The creation of the band started after the discovery of seventeen year old, Danny Mejia. Danny, who was born in the Bronx, New York, and is quoted in the 2 Strong website as a boy who "displayed tremendous talent and passion for music". The Xtreme project then branched out to search for other possible members before settling on Steven Tejada and a third member who is no longer part of the group.

The group's first album, Xtreme was released in 2004 and reissued by "Univision Music Group" in 2006 and reached #14 on the Top Latin Albums chart.

"Haciendo Historia", the group's newest album, was released in late 2006 and peaked at #13 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. The single "Shorty Shorty" has enjoyed similar success reaching #1 on the Billboard Latin Tropical Airplay chart and #2 on the Hot Latin Tracks chart.
