[edit] Please take another look at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2007 July 5
Hi,
You asked for new sources, I delivered new sources. I've redone the Goetz school article on my user pages and made some other comments at the bottom of the deletion-review discussion. I'm asking editors to comment on the changes I've made because they represent a new development, one I think we can form a pretty wide consensus around. I think the article as I've redone it meets the objections of many editors, and it certainly meets WP:V. Please take a look, but I think this deletion review will close today or early tomorrow, so please don't delay, act now and take advantage of this limited-time offer! Thanks Chris. I did in fact add your user box to my profile. Check in this fill in the blank one I found from Yancyfry...

[edit] WikiProject Guitarists newsletter
The WikiProject Guitarists Newsletter |
|
Hey everyone! It's been quite a while since the last newsletter went out but it's time to tune up those guitars, set the amps to 11, and rock out a bit. Or for us old guys, put on the fingerpicks and set the amp to 3. A lot of people have been laboring away at guitar articles and their efforts are to be applauded. If you haven't edited in a while, why not pick an article from Category:Stub-Class guitarist articles and expand it? Or better yet, pick one from the article requests and create it. More tasks can be found on the main project page in the WikiProject Guitarists open tasks box. I went through the member list and moved anyone who hasn't edited a guitar article in two months to the inactive section. If you're getting this newsletter, it means you are still in the active list. See you around --Spike Wilbury ♫ talk 21:47, 18 July 2007 (UTC) |

[edit] R from member
You may notice anyways, but I just added {{R from member}} and its supporting category/redirects/WP:R entry per the 22 July 2007 RfD for Eric Dill. Since you mentioned we should have this template, I thought I would let you know. BigNate37(T) 22:20, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Jupiter Sunrise

[edit] note to self
Self: subcategories of Category:Black metal musical groups need renamed. Xtifr tälk 14:51, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Reply to self: the creator seems to be on it, see below. And don't you know that only crazy people talk to themselves? :) Xtifr tälk 09:39, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your user page
Just don't call me "Shirley"! :)
Surely you can't be serious. ;)
Heh, I love that freakin' movie. Keep up the great work. Cheers. :D --slakr 20:35, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Marvin, the Paranoid Android songs
You voted to delete Category:Marvin, the Paranoid Android songs. I have added a comment. HairyWombat 22:15, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] musical group categories
Thanks for the advice I will add [[:Category:(Nationality) heavy metal musical groups to all of the categories. Would Australian black metal musical groups be the appropriate name for this category if so (or whatever the proper name me be), is it possible to list all the categories together for a speedy category rename? Thanks for the help. Jmm6f488 00:13, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- For countries that only have one or two representatives should I make a cat for them or not. Right now I just left them in the Black and Death groups cats. Jmm6f488 07:21, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sanjaya Malakar
Xtifr, I appreciate your comments at the Sanjaya Malakar battleground. Things appear to be coming a little more civil and though the article has been reverted to its original extensive length, I've adopted a more cautious approach of discussing changes before making them. This hasn't stopped the sarcasm, of course, and interestingly your own comments have now been edited. But thanks again. Grimhim 21:55, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Midnight Rider
I agree, "Midnight Rider" has been a glaring song article omission. Good job starting one. Wasted Time R 13:08, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Georgia cats
Hi Xtifir. In an attempt to not complicate things further, I've expanded my lists of Georgia cats in place, above your comments. I doubt they will, but please take a look at the diff and make sure the additions don't affect your position. Thanks ×Meegs 05:09, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Lillix
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm not sure why I've not made a template yet. I work extensively with Evanescence, basically made it's template how it is today, so that will be no problem. Cheers! -- Huntster T • @ • C 05:40, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A question...
You were the only person, beyond the nominator, who commented on the {{tfd}} for Template:AfghanRefugeeCamp. The justification you offered was that no one had commendted on the discussion for more than seven days.
I'd like you to know that User:Circeus, the nominator, did not choose to comply with the recommendation in WP:TFD that nominators advise the creator, or biggest contributor. I didn't learn of the discussion until I saw that the template was being deleted from a bunch of articles on my watchlist. I certainly would have spoken for the template, if the nominator had complied with the policy's recommendations. Can I ask if this was the only reason you endorsed deletion?
Cheers! Geo Swan 07:03, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- Got your answer. Thanks! Geo Swan 08:09, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion#Template:Visitor_attractions_in_New_York_City
Please take another look at the Tfd for Template:Visitor attractions in New York City. I've updated the template based on the comments. Thanks dm 00:13, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Adminship?
Hi Xtifr - I've noticed you doing good work around the place and making sensible comments in deletion discussions - especially RfD. Your contribs show you have a pretty good understanding of this place's policies and processes, I was wondering if you might be interested in serving as an administrator? If you are, I would be very willing to nominate you. WjBscribe 11:11, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- Oh well, never mind. For what its worth FA is far from a criterion for adminship (I've never written one...) and your edits to The Radiators (US) show you know how to write content. I think you'd pass but if you'd rather not I understand. The offer stands - feel free to get in touch if you change your mind at a later date. WjBscribe 12:06, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- You'd get a second "support" from this quarter when/if you stand. Regards, BencherliteTalk 18:22, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- and a third... - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 00:44, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WP:RFD
Yes, I know that. But my mistake was not clarifying that I was referring to CamelCase redirects, to which I think my argument applies. I've responded to your comments in the RFD debate. But in any case, thanks for the heads up. - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 00:41, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
-
- Seeing as you resolved the issue in the Vhost redirect discussion, I think it's best if you go ahead and close the discussion, per this. I see no main problems with that. - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 02:07, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.
