User talk:Xtbs7645x

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi, Xtbs7645x, Welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.

[edit] Additional tips

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Group25.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Group25.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Still Searching

Please stop it with the b-side tracks in the Still Searching article. The tracks are not part of the album, I made my case on the talk page (which nobody contested), and what you are doing (edit warring, personal attacks, etc.) is against Wikipedia policy. If you continue I will take this to an admin. --HarryCane 11:39, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Why it is not the same as the BestBuy bonus tracks I have thoroughly explained on Talk:Still Searching. And that an anonymous IP re-added the part does not prove anything, as that could have been anybody (even you yourself, though I do not believe it was – just consider the credibility this person has). And the B-side information you want to show with the list at the bottom is already more detailled and more prominently displayed at the top of the article. The problem with a list underneath the track listing (especially when the tracks are numbered 17 through 19) is that it will give readers the incorrect notion that the songs are in fact part of the CD and that there are copies that carry the tracks.--HarryCane 14:16, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
They were indeed listed as 17-19 (see anonymous user's revision). I never said I thought the anonymous user was you. That's why I said "though I do not believe it was" (see above). And it would confuse readers in the sense that they would be listed as B-sides underneath the track listing and bonus tracks (without giving information on where/if the songs were released), which would imply that they are part of the album. Per Wikipedia:Guide_to_layout#Body_sections, editors should avoid creating sections with little information, especially when all information supplied is redunant within the very article. For the fourth time, the b-sides are listed at the top, including information on how they could be obtained. Why is it this important to you that they have their own section? Also, it would be nice if you gave some examples for the "many band pages" using this structure (preferably ones that weren't added by yourself). And I really don't know how deleting utter redundancy from pages makes me a "bad" person. --HarryCane 18:27, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Still Searching (Speical).jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Still Searching (Speical).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:SkyEatsAirplanepromopic.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Hi Xtbs7645x!
We thank you for uploading Image:SkyEatsAirplanepromopic.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Let it be known that I did not use your template for the Sky Eats Airplane page. You should have checked the history page, then you would realize that it was User:Equalvision. I had my own template when I made the page. -CamT|C 03:27, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
